The Story Behind The Gallery

Behind The Gallery is a home for music fans and collectors — a place where the most iconic moments in music photography become something you can own, live with, and pass on.

We work with some of the most celebrated photographers in music, curating limited edition fine art prints that belong on walls, not hard drives.

Our Story

It started in Sydney in 2022 with an exhibition celebrating The Strokes through the lens of Cody Smyth. Since then we've staged special pop-up galleries that bring iconic music photography to life — immersive, high-energy spaces that pair the photography with the music, and spark the emotion of that moment you first fell in love with an artist.

In 2024–25 we delivered a 12-month global collaboration with Nine Inch Nails, celebrating 30 years of The Downward Spiral across four cities. In 2026, our Yungblud exhibition drew over 1,000 fans on opening day alone.

We champion fresh talent, introducing bold new artists to a new generation of music lovers, while also inspiring seasoned fans to invest in art that moves them.
