MIGHTY BOOSH '20' PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION 10-13 OCTOBER, LONDON

Don Hills ’2001

Description

"In 2001 The Strokes played at a now closed, but old school NYC bar called Donhills. It was in the city down on Spring st near the West Side Highway. We would hang out there a lot that year, both when they played and possible more when they didn’t. Some friends we knew threw a party there called “TisWas”. This was the early days.

Another show where it was basically friends. I had (and still have it) a little point and shoot 35mm camera called a Yeshica T4. Great little camera. A lot of times when I just wanted to hangout and not focus on shooting so much, I carried this on me.

Energy was high this show and it was great to watch. I was standing up front snapping pics, drinking a beer and smoking a cigarette (back in the old days when you could smoke in bars).

Processing the film a few days later I was beyond happy with what I got. The grain in the film, being black and white and not really worrying about the photos I was taking.
I'm fairly certain this was one of those 6am nights, but that was pretty often in those days."

All prints are made to order and supplied carefully packaged.

This image is printed on Digital C-Print on Matte paper
