"I think this was the first time I ever pointed a camera at those guys. This was upstairs at Jack's place on Ferdinand in South West Detroit where they would practice. They were always so easy to photograph. The fact that there were two of them and the limited colours and everything. I have contact sheets from those days that don't have a bad frame on them. Which is rare."
