Red Hot Chili Peppers - USA, 2003
This photograph was taken as part of a Sunday Times on the road; feature, traveling with the band between Detroit and Chicago. We were given a chintzy hotel room to do the pictures, which can often be the opposite of inspiring. However, when you’re shooting the Red Hot Chili Peppers, something magical always happens—they created the shot unprompted.
From unexpected handstands to spontaneous jokey moments, sometimes it’s just about letting people be who they are and capturing what unfolds in front of you.
