Oasis - London, 2001
These portraits were taken at The Scala in Kings Cross, London, during a feature I was shooting for an American publication on the ‘Brotherly Love’ tour that the Oasis brothers and the Robinson brothers of The Black Crowes were doing with Spacehog. I was asked to take portraits of them all together, but I also took the opportunity to capture some individual portraits, and I am so glad I did!
I feel these images have aged beautifully and have become standout classic images over time. The scene was quintessentially very rock ‘n’ roll, with Red Stripe beer cans and cigarette ends scattered on the floor in the background which added to the raw, authentic atmosphere of the moment. These portraits have grown in significance over time, reflecting the enduring legacy of Oasis.
