This portrait was made during the ‘Holy Wood’ era, a time when his controversial persona was at its peak. We did some shots at his home, where he was drinking absinthe, surrounded by his own haunting and beautiful paintings. Whatever your thoughts on Manson, I felt it was important to include him in this collection.
Having worked with him on numerous occasions, I found him to be one of the most visually fascinating individuals to collaborate with. His ability to create such striking, unforgettable images made every shoot an intriguing experience, he was always aware of how he should look and gave each photographer something unique.
